Prof. Guibin Jiang

Prof. Guibin Jiang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academician of The World Academy of Sciences, President of the China Association for Instrumental Analysis, Vice Chair of the 13th National Committee of Population, Resources, and Environment of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and Member of the 14th National Committee of the CPPCC. He is a pioneering scientist in the research of emerging pollutants in China.

Research Interests:

Research on Persistent Toxic Pollutants: Developed a systematic analytical method framework for persistent organic pollutants (POPs), and conducted long-term studies on the pollution levels, transmission and evolution trends, accumulation mechanisms, and toxic effects of emerging POPs.

Development of Chromatography and Atomic Spectroscopy Coupling Technologies: Developed a series of chromatography-atomic spectroscopy coupling techniques, addressing the analytical challenges of common chemical forms such as organic mercury, organic tin, and organic arsenic. Some of these technologies have been successfully commercialized.

Discovery and Toxicological Research of Emerging Pollutants: Pioneered new academic directions in the discovery and toxicological study of new environmental pollutants, focusing on the toxicity of emerging pollutants and their potential impacts on human health. The research findings have provided scientific evidence for the formulation of environmental policies.
